2.1: NOTES - Health and Safety in A Theatre
Every workplace has certain hazards within them but as long as rules and regulations are implied and followed, everything should go in order!
Any hazards or accidents that do occur, must be recorded in the accident book. If this is not done then this is classed as a breach of the Health and Safety legislation.
To prevent hazards in a theatre, you should:
- Always have an adequate licensed chaperone at hand if children are on stage and in a performance. They should be supervised at all times and ensure that their safety is in tact.
(Any children under the age of 18 needs to be supervised)
- Leads and cords shouldn't be left lying around as it can cause serious damage as somebody may trip and fall. So to prevent this, cables should be neatly wrapped or tucked away in a particular place
- Also the set needs to be checked and maintained as sometimes when building a set, there is a possibility that nails will be left sticking out. This is extremely dangerous and therefore needs to e checked beforehand.

PERFORMANCE.
The current unit that I am studying is Performance: Unit 2! In this unit, i hope to have succcessfully performed a chosen type of show and then present it to the rest of the school. This show can be an option of a play, concert, variety show or talent show. We have chosen to do our one as a variety show with acting and dancing. We will have to decide on when the show will take place, and devise everything from the show! It will take dedication for it to be a successful show.
